| The Rock to star in American football film |
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has signed on to star in the new Columbia Pictures movie Gridiron Gang.
The film is based on a true story about a group of teenagers at a juvenile detention centre who gain self-confidence when they form a football team.
The story was originally made into a documentary in 1993 directed by Lee Stanley, who will now produce the big screen version.
The film will be shot in Camp Kilpatrick, the Los Angeles County Probation Department facility where the story takes place.
