 Ananova:
Shirley says Garbage nearly split

Shirley Manson says she thought Garnage would split during the recording of their long awaited fourth album.

The album, the follow-up to 2001's Beautifulgarbage, was due out on Universal Records' Interscope label in February.

It still has no firm release date and Manson admits the band has yet to present the album to the record company.

Manson said: "Christ, did things take a weird turn back in October? I seriously thought we were through.

"Oh how I wish I could spill all the beans here but certain members of the band would never forgive me if I washed my dirty laundry in public so I will just have to save it for my memoirs... ha ha ha haaa.

"But, suffice to say, it got pretty rowdy in garbageland for a while. I must confess, I loved the drama of it all. I get bored when things stagnate."

The album, tentatively titled Hands On A Hard Body, includes tracks Be My Bad Boyfriend, Run, Guilty, Calling All The Girls, Sex Is Not The Enemy, Hanging With The Bitches and Bleed Like Me.
