Actress Julia Roberts has spoken for the first time of her joy at being pregnant.

She says she's expecting a boy and girl early next year following IVF treatment, says The Sun.

Talking about her pregnancy, Julia said: "It does kind of happen overnight. You wake up and go, 'Omigod!'

"I can't imagine how big I'm going to get in the next three months. But hell, you just kind of play it as it comes. I'm allowed to do that, aren't I?"

The 36-year-old, who married cameraman Danny Moder two years ago, said she can't wait to be a mother, adding: "It's a whole new life."

She is currently filming Ocean's Twelve with George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon, but says she will put her career on hold once her babies are born.
