Ananova:

Lord Of The Rings stars Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis are reuniting in an animated animal adventure.

The pair will voice characters in the comedy Flushed Away, the story of a pampered pet rat who is accidentally flushed in the sewers of London.

X-Men star Hugh Jackman is also in talks to join the cast, according to Hollywood Reporter.

McKellen will voice a villainous frog, while Serkis plays his hench-rat, Spike. Jackman would play Roddy, the pampered rat.

British comedy veterans Dick Clement and Ian LaFrenais have written the script.

DreamWorks Animation executive Lance Young is overseeing.

Flushed Away is a joint effort between Aardman Animation and Dreamworks Animation.
