Madonna has had a beer named after her - called Material Girl Ale.

A Manchester brewery created the beverage to commemorate the singer's visit to the city on her Re-invention tour.

The labels on the bottles feature a similar design to the cover of Madonna's Immaculate Collection album, reports The Sun.

The fruity ale brewed by JW Lees has a 7.5% alcohol content.

A spokesperson for the firm told the paper: "We brewed the ale to mark Madonna's return to Manchester after ten years... We gave her a crate of bottles to drink backstage but we're not sure if she tried it."

The brewers initially made a crateful for the first night of the star's tour, but has now released a further 300 bottles to meet demand from fans.
