 Ananova:
Glastonbury ticket investigation

Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis has asked local police to look into whether forged tickets were sold for this year's festival.

The organiser has been in touch with Avon And Somerset Police, and asked them to look into the possibility that 500 tickets sold via a website were forgeries reports NME.com.

He said: "I am asking the police to find out where these tickets came from. There is a serious problem here and I am not happy about the source of the tickets."

This year's Glastonbury sold out in record time, with many fans unable to get tickets. The phone lines and Internet site were unable to cope with the demand.

Organisers are looking at different ways to allocate tickets in time for the 2005 festival.
