Sir Elton John has been honoured by the Post Office in Gilbraltar with his face on a stamp commemorating the pennisula's 300 years of British rule.

The 57-year-old singer and his band performed a concert at the colony's Victoria Stadium last week as part of its celebrations.

Elton releases a new studio album, Peachtree Road, on November 8 and plays a series of UK shows in December beginning at the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle on December 7 and continuing with concerts in Sheffield, Nottingham and Glasgow.

Meanwhile, Elton is selling off a collection of his photographs at Christie's in New York on October 14.

The collection includes works by Edward Steichen, Robert Mapplethorpe and Ansel Adams.
