Two of Madonna's bodyguards have been arrested in Israel after a scuffle with photographers outside of the Tel Aviv hotel where the singer is staying. Madonna arrived in Israel Wednesday to celebrate the Jewish New Year along with 2,000 other students of the Kabbalah faith. Her visit has caused a media frenzy in the country, with local newspapers obsessively detailing her every move and 1,000 extra police officers dispatched to protect her and the other 2,000 members of her Kabbalah delegation. The alleged scuffle broke out after photographers followed the star back to her hotel from a restaurant. The two bodyguards are currently being detained for questioning by the Tel Aviv police department, according to a police spokesperson. Since her visit began Madonna has spent some of the time praying and singing in a makeshift synagogue constructed in the lobby of her hotel. Other Holy Land activities on the singer's itinerary include stops at Jerusalem's Western Wall, the Kabbalah-friendly city of Safed in Northern Israel and Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem. |
