 Ananova:
Rolling Stone Watts beats cancer

Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has beaten cancer, according to Mick Jagger.

Jagger said the 63-year-old would be on the band's next tour.

Watts, who hasn't smoked since the 1960s, was diagnosed with throat cancer in June.

But Jagger, 61, said: "Charlie has had all his treatment and he has now been cleared and is free of any illness."

Watts, known as the quiet man in the band, had daily radiotherapy after finding a lump in his neck. He told friends and Shirley, his wife of 40 years, he was determined to make a "full and complete recovery".

Watts, who is worth an estimated £80million, was treated at London's Royal Marsden Hospital, says The Sun.

Oesophageal cancer is the fifth most lethal cancer in the UK, killing 7,200 people a year.
