 Ananova:
Britney splits from longtime manager

Britney Spears has parted company with her longtime manager Larry Rudolph, according to US reports.

The 22-year-old popstar told Rudolph this week that she would not be renewing her contract with him when it runs out at the end of this month, reports the New York Daily News.

Rudolph has handled the singer's career since she was 15.

"Britney and I simply realised that we have done all we can do together and have amicably parted ways after eight years," Rudolph told the paper through his rep.

The New York Daily News quotes a source saying Britney was unhappy that Rudolph persuaded her to get an annulment from her first husband Jason Alexander whom she wed in Las Vegas in January and told her to

sign a pre-nuptial agreement with Kevin Federline, the dancer she married last month.

The source also tells the Daily News that Britney's older brother Bryan has "the managing bug" and was "always trying to push Larry out of the picture."

Spears is currently without a manager, the paper reports. Jive Records releases an album of Britney's Greatest Hits on November 8 preceded a week earlier by her version of Bobby Brown's 1988 hit My Prerogative.
