Liz Hurley reportedly wants Hugh Grant to give her away when she marries boyfriend Arun Nayer.

Liz wants her old flame to take the place of her late father who died eight years ago, says the Daily Star.

It quotes a 'close friend' as saying: "Liz and Hugh are really close and therefore she can't think of anyone else she would ask to perform the special role.

"Even before they officially split up they were more like best friends than anything else and even though both have found themselves new partners, the strong bond is still there.

"Hugh is a big fan of Arun. He was a little sceptical at first but now they get on really well. Obviously he always vetted Liz's boyfriends closely because they are more like brother and sister than anything else now."

Liz is said to have returned the favour by giving her blessing to Hugh's romance with Jemima Khan, urging him to go public with the relationship.
