 Ananova:
Pete Doherty ruins artwork

Pete Doherty has been banned from London's Groucho Club after wrecking a modern artwork worth £100,000.

The ex-Libertines singer tore the metal sculpture from the ceiling and it disintegrated on the floor.

Pete was performing a charity gig in the restaurant on Saturday with his other band Babyshambles reports The Sun.

The singer refused to tone down his performance to suit the plush surroundings.

Pete leapt off the small stage into the crowd that included actor Jamie Theakston. He then jumped up and grabbed what he thought was a cheap decoration and it came clattering to the ground.

An onlooker said: "It's not a big room but Babyshambles launched into a very lively set. Pete was spinning around all over the place. Then he jumped into the crowd and grabbed this sculpture - it fell to the floor in pieces."

Grouchy Groucho bosses were furious. The source added: "Pete left straight after the show. Staff made it clear they never want to see him in their club again."
