Franz Ferdinand have pulled out of an appearance in the next Harry Potter movie.

Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy, Paul Thomson and Nick McCarthy were approached to cameo in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire as a band of witches called the Wyrd Sisters.

The band have rejected the offer reports the Mirror. Sources say tension in the band - which recently saw Alex and Nick come to blows after a French gig is to blame.

A band spokesman said: "There was a bit of a row, that's normal. They can't make the film because of scheduling."

Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood and Jarvis Cocker will appear instead.
