Xzibit says he is so shocked to be hosting the MTV Europe Music Awards that he thinks MTV may have made a mistake.

He said: "I think MTV f***ed up inviting me to host this," he said. "I think the invite was delivered to my crib by mistake.

"But now I'm here and ready for it, they thought they'd give me a shot!"

The star and Pimp My Ride host says he's got a few surprises in store for the show but he won't be changing outfits every five minutes like some previous EMAs hosts.

He added: "I'm gonna keep it straight to the point and fun. I'm just here to have fun and make it big!"

The 2004 MTV Europe Music Awards take place in Rome later.

Jamelia is rumoured to be dueting with Alicia Keys. Other stars performing on the night include Eminem, Gwen Stefani, Franz Ferdinand and Usher.
