Ozzy Osbourne would love to play the evil Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The star is in talks with producers of the hit West End show to play the villain on stage next year.

Ozzy, 56, said: "I love the show and think I would be great in that role. I am supposed to be the Prince of F***ing Darkness after all."

He wants to replace former Boyzone singer Stephen Gately, who is set to leave the show on January 16 reports the Daily Star.

Ozzy is the second rock star to be linked with the sinister role as his friend Meat Loaf is currently in talks to play the part on Broadway.

He would follow in the footsteps of follow in the footsteps of former Crystal Maze presenter Richard O'Brien and Lily Savage creator Paul O'Grady who have both played the Catcher in the West End.
