Bez's girlfriend claims his behaviour has nothing to do with drugs - and puts it down to a motorbike crash.

Monica Ward, 22, claims the 40-year-old ex-Happy Mondays member slurs his speech because of the accident in 2000.

She claims Bez caught the MRSA superbug while in hospital and never fully recovered. She said: "It's amazing that he's even alive, let alone walking and talking on the TV."

She also criticised Germaine Greer for comparing him to Ozzy Osbourne reports The Sun.

She added: "Ozzy admitted drugs left him the way he is - but Bez is different. He never did heroin."
