Britney Spears and movie bosses are being sued by a scriptwriter.

Christopher Merrill claims he came up for the idea for Spears' debut teen drama Crossroads, reports the Splash news agency.

He claims there are 'shocking similarities' between the movie and his script for 'Dream Alive'.

Mr Merrill has launched a multi-million dollar lawsuit in Los Angeles, California.
