Kylie Minogue has bought a holiday home on an island that has 90 other residents.

French Island, off the Australian coast near Melbourne, used to be home to an Alcatraz-style prison reports The Sun.

A friend said: "Kylie wants somewhere she can switch off from the rest of the world. When she feel she's had enough she'll take herself off to her hideaway to relax."

Kylie bought the home with sister Dannii and brother Brendan.
