Bookies have slashed the odds of Kim Medcalf winning Celebrity Fame Academy from 7/4 to 8/11.

A spokesman for William Hills said: "It is the first time that we have had an odds-on shot since this series began.

"We think punters are backing her because she is the least likely to have a one-off shocking performance, which at this stage would be curtains."

Edith Bowman is the 3/1 second favourite, while Reggie Yates is the 33/1 outsider.

Adrian Edmondson has odds of 7/2, and Dawn Steele and Debra Stephenson are quoted at 16/1.
