A new reality show will see pop acts from the 70s, 80s and 90s battling it out for the public vote. Hit Me Baby One More Time, hosted by Vernon Kay, will feature blasts from the past performing memorable tracks from the last three decades. Each week five different acts will recreate their heyday to sing their best known song live in the studio. They will also have to give a unique performance of a contemporary track. Among those returning to the limelight on ITV1's first show on Saturday, April 2, are Gloria Gaynor singing I Will Survive, The Honeyz performing Finally Found and Tiffany with her classic disco track I Think We're Alone Now. Other artists who will perform throughout the series include 911, Belinda Carlisle, Brother Beyond, Carol Decker, Chesney Hawkes, Haddaway, Kenny Thomas, Mica Paris and Sinitta. Every week each act will be put to the public vote with only the winner going through to the grand final at the end of the series. Host Kay says: "I'm really looking forward to presenting Hit Me Baby One More Time as it's a great opportunity to find out what the artists who made the tracks of my years have been up to. "They'll be performing modern day classics as well as the hits that made them famous." |
