Angelina Jolie has joined the cast of Beowulf.

The film is based on the old story of a Scandinavian hero who slays a beast reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Robert Zemeckis will direct the film. He also directed The Polar Express.

Zemeckis will create computer-animated versions of the actors similar to that used in The Polar Express.

Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Robin Wright Penn, John Malkovich, Alison Lohman and Brendan Gleeson will also star in the movie.
