Tom Cruise has been nominated for a Razzie Award.

The Razzie Awards are a spoof version of the Oscars reports BBC online.

Cruise was nominated in the worst actor category for War of the Worlds, alongside Will Ferrell for Bewitched.

Son of the Mask, the sequel to The Mask, but minus its star Jim Carrey, earned eight nominations including worst film and actor for Jamie Kennedy.

Worst actress nominations include Jessica Alba for Fantastic Four and Into the Blue, Hilary Duff for Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and The Perfect Man and Jennifer Lopez for Monster in Law.

Tom Cruise's fiancee Katie Holmes was nominated for worst supporting actress for Batman Begins. She is up against Paris Hilton for House of Wax, Jessica Simpson for Dukes of Hazzard and her sister Ashlee Simpson for Undiscovered.

Other worst film nominees are horror movie House of Wax, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolow and Dirty Love, which starred ex-Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy.

The "winners" will be announced on 4 March, 24 hours before the Oscars.
