 Ananova:
Quidditch axed from Potter movie

Harry Potter fans are reportedly angry after a decision to axe quidditch from the latest film.

Producers have removed scenes of the broomstick sport for the Order Of The Phoenix movie, reports the Sun.

They say they could not keep everything in because the book by JK Rowling is the longest in the series at nearly 800 pages.

A Warner Brothers source said: “If we included everything the film would be seven hours long.”

The decision has upset fans because quidditch plays a big part in the book. It is the first time Ron Weasley, played by Rupert Grint, 18, takes part in it.

Many upset fans posted messages on Potter websites aftr hearing the news.

One on MuggleNet wrote: “This makes me mad. I loved that part in the book and Quidditch plays a pretty big part.”

Filming, mostly at Leavesden studios in Hertfordshire, is due to finish next month and the movie is due out next July.
