The Rolling Stones are to play their first festival in over 30 years when they headline the Isle Of Wight Festival this summer. The legendary rockers last played a UK festival in 1976 when they performed at the Knebworth Fair alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd and 10cc. The band's appearance was officially confirmed today (March 20), according to NME. Mick Jagger's men will close the festival on the Sunday (June 10) and join fellow headliners Snow Patrol and Muse, and other acts including Ash, The Feeling, Kasabian, Amy Winehouse, Keane, The Fratellis, James Morrison and Paolo Nutini. Tickets for the event, which takes place between 8 and 10 of June, sold out within hours of going on sale.
