The 1967 Fender Stratocaster was used throughout the peak of Hendrix' career.

Also up for grabs is a Gibson Firebird used by Noel Gallagher on Definitely Maybe and What's the Story, Morning Glory.

Fans can also bid for a Gibson guitar given to Mick Ronson by Marc Bolan at the eBay.co.uk online trading website.

Jimi Hendrix' guitar was kept for three decades by an employee of his management company, and is offered for sale on eBay.co.uk by Rock Stars Guitars, a partnership specialising in unique, celebrity-owned items.

Bids can be made online until March 26 for the Stratocaster, which comes complete with a photo of Jimi with the guitar, a letter of authenticity, and other memorabilia.
