U2 frontman Bono has been spotted getting close to A-list actress Penelope Cruz.

In a break from the Irish singer's usual attempts to save the world from hunger an poverty, Bono, real name Paul Hewson, was spotted walking around hand-in-hand with the Spanish filmstar in Saint Tropez.

An onlooker told the Daily Mirror: "Bono and Penelope looked very intimate indeed. They were very touchy-feely."

Bono is currently still married to wife Ali Hewson, who he wed 24 years ago.
