Perez Hilton must be rubbing his hands together.

Somebody needs to pay up.

He's entitled to nearly $85,000 (over £40,000) to pay his legal costs in a defamation lawsuit.

And it's Samantha Ronson who'll be footing the bill.

Yet it doesn't end there... he can receive an additional $2,000 (£1,000) if he requests it.

Perez's lawyer said: "Perez Hilton will take steps to make sure every dime is collected.

"This should make one careful before filing a lawsuit against him."

Sam was a passenger in her mate Lindsay Lohan's car when it crashed into a tree in Beverly Hills in May last year.

She sued Perez for repeating on his website a report from another site stating that she planted cocaine that was found in Linds' car.

But in November the case went down the pan after Perez's peeps argued he was protected by free speech rights.

And now she's having to cough up for starting the legal scrap in the first place.

Ouch.
