 Ananova:
Yorke reveals Glasto snub

Thom Yorke has said his band won't play Glastonbury this year because of environmental issues.

Radiohead

Radiohead frontman Thom has said that the Somerset event is too poorly serviced by public transport to make a headline slot environmentally justifiable.

The Radiohead frontman was in Brussels yesterday (February 27) promoting Friends Of The Earth's Big Ask Europe campaign - and told The Sun of his concerns about playing Glastonbury at this current time.

He said: "What we're trying to do now is only play in areas that have a public transport infrastructure in place.

"So that rules out Glastonbury for this year. Maybe we can work out a plan for the future. They're probably sick of the sight of us anyway."

During the launch of the climate change campaign, Thom also insisted that the band would now be minimising the environmental impact of their touring schedule by shipping equipment rather than flying it and redesigning their lighting rig.
