The husband of Corinne Bailey Ray has been found dead in an apartment in Leeds.

31-year-old Jason Rae was found at approximately 3.15pm on Saturday.

There has been no word on whether Corinne was home at the time.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said officers were called to the home and a 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of "supplying controlled drugs".

According to police he was later released on bail.

It has been reported that results of a post mortem on the saxophonist were inconclusive and police are awaiting the results of a toxicology report.

Corinne married Jason in 2001 after meeting in a Leeds jazz club, where he worked as a coat room attendant.

Corinne's record label EMI today (Monday) released a statement which said: "EMI Records would like to offer its sincere condolences to Corinne Bailey Rae and the Rae family at this tragic time. We ask that the media respects Corinne's privacy and that of her entire family."
