Coldplay have revealed that they may have overdone their celebrations after the success of their latest album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends.

Chris, Guy, Jonny and Will are concerned about how much weight they’ve piled on over recent months due to the amount of "baked goods" they have consumed.

Singer Chris Martin told the Daily Mirror: "It happens whenever we have some downtime, usually between albums.

"We get very hairy and kind of morph into Bill Oddie – we stack on the weight."

But the world conquering foursome have taken dietary advise from an unlikely source, former Stone Roses bassist, and legendary caner, Mani.

Chris explained: "He was eating a sandwich and I asked him what was in it. He told me salad and that I should eat the same. Mani warned us that nobody likes a fat pop star."
