Going to the cinema isn't always the relaxing experience it should be. Mobile phones going off halfway through the film and kids talking to their mates can be seriously irritating and ruin the movie. So one cinema chain's had a bright idea - keep the kids out of certain showings and let the adults watch the films in peace. Vue cinemas has started staging over-18s screenings of everything from Harry Potter to James Bond. The idea being that the older the audience, the less likely they are to disrupt the film. But just to be sure, a member of staff also introduces the film and then sits in the cinema while it's playing. The firm tested the idea out at a few venues and was amazed at the response. Vue's chief executive Tim Richards told Sky News: "We started the trial in September and we started it with a handful of sites. Normally we trial things for a period of two to four, maybe even six months. "This one lasted one month. It was so incredibly popular, demand was so high that we rolled it out across the circuit right away." The scheme's currently running at fifty-eight Vue sites across the UK. It's limited to around two screenings per week but if there's enough demand the firm says it will stage more. There's nothing to say that adults won't ruin a film but those coming out of the over-18 screening we went to in Camberley in Surrey seemed to approve of the idea of keeping kids out. "I've got nothing against children," said one man, "but I think it works".
