Josh Lucas is to team up with Katherine Heigl in the romantic drama Life As We Know It.

The film follows two single adults whose lives change dramatically when their mutual best friends are killed in an accident and name them as guardians of their orphaned daughter.

Grey's Anatomy star Heigl also serves as the film's executive producer, along with her mother Nancy.

The film also stars Josh Duhamel and Christina Hendricks and is being directed by Greg Berlanti, according to Variety.

Lucas, whose previous credits include Stealth and Poseidon, is currently completing Little Murder alongside Terrence Howard and will also be seen in Peacock, alongside Ellen Page and Cillian Murphy.
