John Travolta's white suit in Saturday Night Fever has been voted the most memorable movie costume ever. The three-piece suit - which later sold for £53,000 at auction - has become a lasting symbol of 70s disco style. Travolta replaced his favoured black suit for the white in the film so it stood out in the darkened disco alongside his dancing partner, who was wearing a bright red dress. Second place went to screen goddess Ursula Andress's bikini, complete with belt and knife, in Dr No. And Marlon Brando's tough guy biker get-up in The Wild One was voted third most memorable look, in the survey of 4,000 film fans by Choices. The most recent costume to be featured in the top 20 was Keanu Reeves's outfit of leather greatcoat, trousers and motorcycle boots which he wore in The Matrix. |
