Shania Twain says she owes her success to her husband.

"Mutt has made me what I am," she told TV Movie magazine.

The singer met South African Mutt Lange, who is twenty years her senior, in the early 90s.

Since then, he has written several hits for her as well as working as her producer.

Twain also explained why the couple chose to live in Switzerland with their son Eja.

"People are very discreet there, and I'm enjoying my private life," she said.

"In the US or in Canada, you could just forget about that."
