 Ananova:
Ozzy dates cancelled

Ozzy Osbourne has told of his deep disappointment as he officially cancelled a number of UK shows in the wake of his quad bike crash.

The singer almost died following the accident last month, which left him with fractured ribs and vertebra.

He will need to spend the next few months concentrating on his recovery, but he has vowed to return to the stage as soon as he's ready.

Announcing the cancellation of his 20-date tour, Osbourne said: "I am deeply disappointed, but it's out of my control. Right now I need to concentrate on my recovery and unfortunately this is something I cannot rush.

"I have to take things one step at a time now. I look forward to being back on stage as and when the doctors tell me I am fit and ready."

He had been due to perform at Wembley Arena and Birmingham NEC at the tail end of next month. The dates had already been postponed from 2003.

Osbourne also thanked fans and wellwishers who had sent messages of support for his speedy recovery.
