Viewers have chosen their dream TV schedule - with David Jason getting top billing.
Homer Simpson, Chris Tarrant and the cast of EastEnders also feature in the line-up.
Radio Times asked its readers for their perfect evening of TV viewing. They chose The Simpsons followed by EastEnders, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Only Fools And Horses, Casualty and A Touch Of Frost. That makes two appearances for TV favourite Jason, who stars as Only Fools And Horses wheeler-dealer Del Boy Trotter and gruff Detective Inspector Jack Frost. Asked to include a time for a news bulletin, they opted for 10pm - bad news for ITV, which is scrapping News At Ten in favour of a 10.30pm slot. The 13,000 viewers who took part in the poll decided to round off their night of viewing with a movie premiere. Radio Times now hopes to persuade BBC bosses to screen the line-up on one of the Corporation's channels. A spokesman said: "The inclusion of The Simpsons really demonstrates the cross-generational appeal of the show, in a list which is dominated by UK favourites such as Only Fools And Horses and Casualty. David Jason's status as one of Britain's national television treasures is also confirmed, with two of his programmes making the viewers' list. |
