Jane's Addiction and former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro says he enjoyed having a reality TV show made about his wedding to Baywatch actress Carmen Electra.

But he says his real life is nothing like it is portrayed in MTV's latest reality series, Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave, which premiered on Wednesday.

Navarro said: "There's no such thing as reality TV! There isn't. There's what-it's-like-when-cameras-follow-you-around TV, because you're not gonna be real with an eight-man crew in your house.

"It's just not gonna happen. So you end up getting the most realistic portrayal of your life with eight guys with cameras around."

"It's been a lot of fun," he said. "I saw the first two episodes and it was very surreal to watch a slice of your own life formatted into a half-hour show. We had some reservations about doing it, but it seems cool."

Unlike The Osbournes, Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave concerns only the preparations for their wedding last November, reports MTV.

"It's a trip getting used to the cameras following you around. But the cool thing is that it's a documented wedding diary," the rocker said. "Having said that, there were times they could've hit the road. But ultimately we made a better show."

MTV approached Navarro and Electra about covering their wedding after the couple made "Love Story," which documented their courtship. They'd been procrastinating about setting a date, so the show forced the issue.

"Thanks to MTV, we can give our kids a DVD package about how their parents met and wed," Navarro joked.

"And maybe MTV can document our childbirth. I got some making-of home footage, then I think we're gonna do some kind of C-section delivery, so perhaps MTV can come in and shoot that."
