UK-based indie record label Purple Haze Records is suing the lawyers of the Jimi Hendrix company Experience Hendrix LLC and the company itself.
Purple Haze Records says it has launched the legal action over rights to a 1966 Jimi Hendrix concert in Stockholm, which it released in the UK in January as a CD. They say the legal action will allege malicious interference with a third party contract and say they went out of their way to clear the issue of ownership of the recording before the release of the album. The firm says it has also reported three lawyers from Eversheds to the Attorney General of the UK. In addition, Purple Haze says they have reported Reed Wasson (attorney for Experience Hendrix) and the company Experience Hendrix to the Attorney General of the US and the FBI. Purple Haze Records claim they own the rights to the Hendrix Stockholm concert and have released a CD of the show, reports Undercover News. |
