 Ananova:
Motorhead set to rock Royal Opera House

Motorhead are to play a gig at the Royal Opera House.

Lemmy and his band will rock the refined Covent Garden venue with hits like Ace of Spades.

The concert hall is more used to staging classic opera and ballet.

But for one night only it will play host to Motorhead - who are entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the loudest band ever and whose songs include Iron Fist and Killed by Death.

The one-off gig this Sunday at the Vilar Floral Hall is part of One Amazing Week, a series of events showcasing London's cultural life.

Tickets will be available to competition winners only.

Elsewhere, Jerry Hall will attempt to set a new world record by appearing as different characters in as many different shows as possible on one night, dashing around the West End on foot and taxi-bike.

Other events include fashion designers Julien Macdonald and Vivienne Westwood unveiling their own specially designed London buses, and Premiership footballers coaching children in Regent's Park.

Giant "paint by numbers" canvasses will also spring up across London in a project masterminded by the Tate.
