Morrisey, The Pixies and The Cure are to play Manchester's Move Festival in July. Other bands confirmed for the four day event include Stereophonics, Madness, Ocean Colour Scene and Elbow, with more acts still to be announced. A spokesman for promoters SJM told XFM that Morrisey would prove a huge draw for the festival. "His love affair with Manchester is legendary," said the spokesman. "And having sold out 15,000 tickets for his MEN Arena gig in two hours, this will no doubt prove to be the hottest ticket of the summer." Morrissey is also confirmed to play the Reading and Leeds Festivals, as well as curating this year's Meltdown at the Royal Festival Hall in London and is expected to play Glastonbury. This year's Virgin Trains Move Festival takes place from July 8-11 at the Lancashire County Cricket Ground in Old Trafford, Manchester. Tickets are £85 for four days or £30 for one day, and go on sale on Friday. The full line up so far is: Thursday, July 8 Madness, Ocean Colour Scene, Friday, July 9 The Cure, Elbow Saturday, July 10 The Pixies, Stereophonics Sunday, July 11 Morrissey |
