 Ananova:
Bjork records songs for new album

Bjork says she's been recording new songs for her new album with Japanese beatbox artist Dokaka.

Dokaka collaborated with the Icelandic singer on tracks for the untitled album at a New York recording studio.

According to Bjork's official website the album is due for release later this year.

Dokaka's acapella versions of classic songs such as Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit, King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man and the Allman Brothers' Ramblin' Man, have helped make him a popular artist in Japan.

Examples of his humming versions of classic tunes are posted at his official website, www.dokaka.com.

Bjork released her last studio album, Verspertine, in 2001. She's also reported to be planning to separately release albums contained in her Live Box set which came out last summer.

The albums - Debut Live, Post Live, Homogenic Live and Verspertine Live - are available from Bjork's website and are released separately in June on One Little Indian Records
