Ananova:

ITN's former political editor John Sergeant is to star on a new reality show to find a prospective MP.

Sergeant, who also spent eight years at the BBC, will chair the judges on ITV's Vote For Me series.

Viewers will choose from ten finalists and the winner will stand for a real seat, reports The Sun.

"I am delighted to be involved," said Mr Sergeant.

The show will be screened from the end of the year in an 11pm slot.
