The Dandy Warhols have released their much talked about 'lost' second album, The Black Album, via their official website. Fans who buy the album are also given an 18-track second CD featuring B-sides and other rarities. The album can be downloaded for around £17 from www.dandywarhols.com. The Black Album is made up of tracks recorded in 1996 intended to be included on the band's follow-up to their debut Dandys Rule, OK. The album was due to be their first album for EMI's Capitol Records but was never released and the band referred to it as their Black Album. Since then some tracks have appeared as B-sides on singles and some were reworked for inclusion on what would end up being their debut album for Capitol, The Dandy Warhols Come Down. Tracks on The Black Album include Arpeggio Adaggio, Crack Cocaine Rager, Good Morning, Head, White Gold, Boys, Shiny Leather Boots, Earth To The Dandy Warhols, Minnesoter, The Twist and The Wreck. The second disc titled Come On Feel The Dandy Warhols includes their versions of David Bowie's The Jean Genie, Gordon Lighfoot's The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald, Blondie's Call Me, Neil Young's Ohio, Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Relax and Ted Nugent's Free For All. |
