Keira in talks for Pride and Prejudice role

Keira Knightley is in talks to star in an adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

According to Screendaily, she's in talks to play Elizabeth Bennet in the film. The role of Darcy is still being cast.

Joe Wright will make his feature directorial debut on the classic 19th century romance.

Wright previously directed two acclaimed BBC mini-series - the historical biography Charles II and contemporary drama Nature Boy.

Novelist Deborah Moggach has written the first draft of the Pride and Prejudice script.

Knightley will next been seen as Guinevere in King Arthur which is released in UK cinemas on July 30.
