The girl to play Harry Potter's girlfriend in the fourth film has been cast.

The Daily Record says 16-year-old Katie Leung has been chosen to play Cho Chang, Daniel Radcliffe's love interest in The Goblet of Fire.

The Motherwell teenager was chosen ahead of 4,000 wannabes.

Her father Peter said she is still coming to terms with the news.

"It's obviously a great part to get and it's a happy time for all the family," he said.

"Katie is supposed to be getting a press officer and things like that."

Radcliffe, 15, gets to kiss Leung when filming on the JK Rowling novel starts later this year.
