Sting has been forced to postpone a ninth consecutive concert due to laryngitis.

A spokesman for Birmingham's NEC Arena confirmed tonight's gig had been called off.

"Ticket holders are advised to hold on to their tickets, which will be valid for the rescheduled date and will not need to be exchanged," the spokesman said.

In a statement to fans, Sting said: "This is a bitter blow for me.

"It is a terrible beginning for the UK tour, I feel gutted. We are not having a good couple of days up here."
