Ananova:

Samantha Morton, Kiefer Sutherland and Cliff Curtis are to star in a film about the Maori land wars of the late 19th century.

River Queen will be directed by Vincent Ward who wrote the script with fellow New Zealander Toa Fraser, reports Variety.

It focuses on a young woman caught in the midst of the land wars.

Shooting starts on New Zealand's North Island on June 28.
