Kitten's father has said his daughter was not a prostitute when she was 16, but was attending private school at the time.

Kenneth Pinder has also attacked Channel 4 over its obsession with sex and is understood to be making efforts to have his daughter removed from the show.

The retired surveyor, said Kitten, or Kat as he calls her, was at a £12,000-a-year boarding school at the time she claimed to have been a prostitute.

He said she had completed a dissertation on prostitution while a university student, says the Daily Mail. He said the family are devastated by her appearance on Big Brother.

"I do not know why she has said what she has said. Her parents have loved her and cherished her," he said.

He added: "My daughter is a pawn in a much bigger game. The game being played is being perpetuated by Channel 4."

Mr Pinder, from St Albans in Hertfordshire, said: "Obviously I would prefer her not to be on the programme."
