 Ananova:
Jet pull out of Glastonbury

Jet have reportedly pulled out of this month's Glastonbury Festival due to family illness.

The Australian group were due to play on the Other Stage on the opening day of the festival.

A spokesperson for the band told NME.com that due to a "serious illness" in the family, the whole band will have to return to Australia.

He said: "They want to come back and play next year but unfortunately there was no other option than to go back. Jet aren't the kind of band to pull things and they thank everyone for their support."

NME reports that they may be replaced by Badly Drawn Boy.

The festival, at Worthy Farm in Somerset, takes place over the weekend of June 25-27.

Oasis, Kings of Leon, Chemical Brothers and Franz Ferdinand are all lined up to play the Friday.

Other acts playing the festival include Muse, Sir Paul McCartney, Sister Sledge, Orbital and Basement Jaxx.
