 Ananova:
Henmans expecting second child

Tim Henman has announced that he and his wife Lucy are expecting their second child.

The couple already have a daughter, Rose Elizabeth. They are expecting their second child in December.

The British number one, who reached the semi-finals of the French Open for the first time in his career last week, has enjoyed one of his best ever seasons on the tennis circuit, regaining his place in the world's top five.

Henman, 29, who also reached the final at the Indian Wells Masters Series event earlier this year, married television producer Lucy four-and-a-half years ago.

Henman said on his official website: "Lucy and I both thoroughly enjoyed becoming parents for the first time when Rosie was born a couple of years ago, and we're really looking forward to adding to the family later in the year.

"The baby's due in December, so hopefully the timing will work out perfectly as I'll be at home for the birth and I'll be able to spend as much time at home as possible with all the family before heading off to Australia for the start of the 2005 season."

Henman is due to start his build up to Wimbledon at the Stella Artois Championship against Slovakia's Karol Beck.

He has always described it as his dream to capture the title at SW19, where he has lost in four semi-finals.

Henman met Lucy Heald in December 1996 when she was working on a documentary about the then up-and-coming tennis star. He popped the question during a romantic holiday in Tuscany.

Raised in Hampshire, Lucy is the daughter of Dr Richard Heald, a cancer specialist, and was educated at the county's exclusive Farnborough Hill School.
